# What fits on a trade fair stand

A shelf, a tablet, a card reader - that was all there was at EuroShop. A store does not need more either.

In February 2026, Spreat was at EuroShop in Düsseldorf - the largest trade fair for retail - on the “Innovation made in Germany” joint pavilion run by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs. On 24 February there were also 25 minutes on the Purple Stage.

The stand itself was small. A shelf with goods, a tablet, a card reader. And that is the interesting part.

The whole model, set up on a few square meters.

## Three things, and one of them is software

Anyone who wants to show a POS system at a retail trade fair usually builds a checkout area. We need a shelf for it - because the question Spreat answers is not a checkout question but an assortment question: how do goods get into a store without the store having to buy them?

The answer has three parts. First: the space - a shelf, a table, a meter of wall. Second: the goods, which belong to the brands and stay theirs until they are sold. Third: the software that holds both together - assortment, till, settlement, payout.

On a trade fair stand you mostly see the first two. The third part is the one doing the work.

The setup at the fair is not fundamentally different from a real store. That is not a simplification for the audience - it really does start that small.

And what would that look like for you?

One meter is enough to start. Let's look together at what fits your space.

    ## The fastest route into physical retail - and what it really costs a brand

With Spreat, the brand carries the stock risk. That is true. But how big it is can be put in euros - and set against the routes where the retailer takes on the risk and gets paid for it.

Space, staff time, return shipping: the brands' goods do not come for free. Here is what a store really does for them - and which work falls away in return.

    ## POS integration: how someone else's goods run through your existing till

“We already have a till system” is the most common objection - and the easiest to answer. There are two routes, and one of them does not touch your systems at all.
